NCAA Baseball Tourney Set

The Longhorns did not make the playoffs this season, for the first time since 1998.  A few other Texas schools did make it, including Baylor, the #4 national seed.  They will host a regional, with UT-Arlington and Dallas Baptist in the Waco regional.  Texas A&M will also host a regional, with TCU in the College Station regional.  Rice will also host a regional, with Sam Houston state in the Houston regional.

Rangers sign Roy Oswalt

The wizard is back in Texas, this time with the Texas Rangers, Dallas Morning News is reporting.  Oswalt’s contract is insentive based, if he get called up from the minor leagues by July 1st, he can earn up to 8 million this year.  If Oswalt makes 10 starts, he earns another million.  Roy Oswalt has been on the Rangers radar since the offseason, but once Rangers starting pitcher Neftali Feliz went on the DL, Oswalt became a priority.  Most Texans will remember Oswalt as the Ace of the Houston Astros, making the All Star game 3 times with the Stros.  Last season OSwalt pitched for the Phillies.  If OSwalt can be half the pitcher he once was, he’ll be a nice addition to the bottom of the Ranger rotation.

Tim Duncan, Spur for Life

Spurs legend Tim Duncan is a free agent after this season, but don’t expect

him to test the free agent market.  Duncan, in an interview with yahoo sports

stated “I’m not going anywhere.  You can print that wherever you want to.

I’m here and I’m a Spur for life.”  Well here we are, printing it.  It should come

as no surprise to any Spurs fan that Duncan has no desire to leave.

Jason Garrett says no trade for Jenkins

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett stated Mike Jenkins is a big part this team, and will not be traded.  Jenkins has skipped OTA’s this week, and has asked to be traded.  This demand comes due to the Cowboys signing corner Brandon Carr, and drafting corner Morris Claiborne.  Both are expected to start in front of Jenkins.  With most NFL teams constantly putting 3 wide receivers on the field at a time, Jenkins should still see plenty of playing time as the nickel back.
