Cowboys Creating Cap Space

Dallas Cowboys

The cowboys have restructured 5 contracts to go from being about 20 million over the cap, to now being under the cap.  The cowboys restructured Carr’s contract giving them an extra 11 million, Ware’s giving them 4, Austin’s giving them 4 and Witten’s contract giving them about 3.6 million.  The ‘Boys still have some more restructuring to do.  There is still a lot of money left on the table going to Free, Connor and Ratliff.  Surely, something will happen with these players, either a restructuring of their deal or even possibly cutting them to free the cap space.   The Cowboys did have their first off season signing.  Long snapper Ladouceur was set to become an unrestricted free agent but instead signed a 5 year, 4 million dollar deal.  With all of the restructuring,  comes a lot of questions.  Are they prepping them selves to make some big moves this off season?  Are they going to sign Romo to that mega deal?  Or, is the electricity bill of Cowboys Stadium starting to make a dent Jerry’s pocket? Only time will tell.
